Norman and Norma are packing up and moving to a coastal town after the sudden death of Norman’s father. The change is very exiting for the family and they are looking forward to the new start but threats from hostile neighbors in their new town soon causes for a lot of worry and stress. A kid gets up from his bed and goes and checks out a couple of pictures on his wall, he goes into the living room and sees the iron left on and dinner is still cooking. He goes and sees his father dead in another room, he then starts hitting a door looking for his mother. His mother comes out and tells her dad is hurt, his mother walks in very calm and calls him “Norman”.
Norman starts to cry since his father is obviously dead and his mother holds him saying sorry. Norman’s mother is driving the both of them too the new place they’re moving too and they both call each other asses. She tells him to keep his eyes closed as they arrive and helps him out of the car, she sits on the hood of the car and then tells him to open his eyes and we see the Seafall motel, Norman and his mother go to the house and she starts opening all the curtains.
Norman’s mother shows off the living room to him and then leads him up stairs and she shows him his bedroom, then they go down the hall to her room; both being relatively close. His mother starts telling him it’s they’re chance to now start over.
It’s now dark out and Norman goes to collect the luggage from the car and bring it to the house, he sees his mother through the window of her bedroom and continues to go up the stairs. Norman is listening to music at a bench and four girls approach him and start talking to him and he mentions that he has an older brother that doesn’t live with them, the girls invite Norman to join them with a ride as another pulls up in her car.
