The last day little Caylee Anthony was seen alive, prosecutors in the murder trial really overlooked a vital clue, and that is on that day Casey Anthony went on Google search and looked up “fool-proof suffication.”
Starcasm reports: The internet history then shows the user clicked on a link to a site criticizing websites promoting suicide that included the quote “Poison yourself and then follow it up with suffocation” by placing “a plastic bag over the head.” As you may know, Caylee Anthony was allegedly poisoned and then suffocated. The search was reportedly missed because investigators for the prosecution only checked the computer’s Internet Explorer browser history and not the Firefox browser most often used by Casey Anthony.
The evidence was first revealed by Casey’s former defense attorney Jose Baez in his book Presumed Guilty: Casey Anthony: The Inside Story, although the author suggested the search was made by Caylee’s father George Anthony after her death because he was considering suicide.
Kevin Durant is arguing with the person that decided to sue him for a bunch of money for using his nickname, “Durantula” from the 1980’s musician, and is stating that he doesn’t use it for money and he didn’t even come up with the name.
TMZ reports: As TMZ first reported, the Oklahoma City Thunder star was sued by guitarist Mark Durante, who claimed he had trademarked the name and used it to sell merchandise long before KD came along.
But in his response — filed earlier this month in Illinois Federal Court — Durant claims the media and his fans have been calling him by the name his whole career. Durant says he has NEVER used the name to sell merchandise … so Durante’s lawsuit has no merit.
In addition, Durant claims that no one would ever confuse him with Durante (who has played with the likes of Public Enemy, The Aliens and The Next Big Thing).
KD wants the lawsuit tossed completely and wants Durante to cover his legal fees.
Dwight Howard who is in a nasty custody battle with the mother of his child, is being asked to pay for her legal fees, and she is stating that its not fair, because he can easily outspend her, so she wants the judge to step in.
TMZ reports: TMZ broke the story … Dwight and former “Basketball Wives” star Royce Reed are entangled in a bitter legal battle after Dwight filed for sole custody of their young son.
In the latest development, Royce — who was axed from “BB Wives” this year — filed docs in Florida asking a judge to make Dwight foot her legal bills, claiming she can’t afford them.
According to the docs, Royce claims that Dwight rakes in over $1.3 million per month and should cough up the cash, otherwise, the fight’s not fair. She claims he can hire an army of lawyers … while she’ll get buried in bills and eventually have to drop out.
In the docs, her lawyer says she’s already racked up a $44,113.50 bill and is expected to tack on another $60k plus if she continues to fight … for a grand total of $106,621.80.
Katt Williams is being sued again, and this time according to sources will be against him giving off a non/bad performance in Oakland.
TMZ reports: Williams and promoter Live Nation are on the receiving end of a class action lawsuit filed by Brian Herline on behalf of everyone who went to see the comedian “perform” on November 16.
According to the lawsuit — filed on the day before Thanksgiving in Alameda County, CA — Katt’s show ended after just 10 minutes … but not before he “confronted a heckler, took his clothes off, and attempted to fight at least three audience members.”
The suit is seeking unspecified damages for “Katt Williams’ non-performance.”
Williams has been stringing together one bizarre appearance after another as of late and was actually arrested in Oakland just two days before the show in question.
According to sources Halle Berry is going to rush to court and take no chances when it comes to her former beau Gabriel Aubry after the huge fight on Thanksgiving Day.
TMZ reports: Sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ Halle and her lawyers are alarmed that Gabriel allegedly started the fight with Olivier Martinez right in front of 4-year-old Nahla. Although a judge issued an emergency order of protection — requiring Gabriel to stay 100 yards away from Halle, Nahla and Olivier – that order expires Tuesday.
We’re told Halle’s lawyers will be in family court asking a judge to extend that protection for an indefinite period of time.
TMZ broke the story … the bloody fight landed both Gabriel and Olivier in the same hospital ER. Gabriel was arrested and could be charged with criminal battery.
Sources tell us … Halle’s argument is pretty simple — if Gabriel can’t control himself enough to protect Nahla from emotional trauma, it’s too risky for him to be around the child, Halle, or her fiance … with whom he clearly has beef.
Halle has firepower behind the argument, because we know Halle’s lawyers argued before the same judge on previous occasions that Gabriel’s temper was uncontrollable.
Shakira is in hot waters with her former boyfriend, the mother to be is being sued for a whopping one hundred million dollars, over a business deal gone wrong.
Waleg reports: Antonio de la Rua and Shakira were together for a long time before they broke up in 2010. According to de la Rua, in the span of their relationship, Shakira at one time asked him to play the role of manager for the “Shakira brand.” With him taking care of things behind the scenes. Shakira earned tons of money! With his help, she also sealed a deal with Live Nation for $300 million.
Although their love story ended, de la Rua continued to be her manager. But in 2011, Shakira fired him and that she refused to pay him any share of her business profit!
De la Rua is now crying foul and has filed legal documents at the Manhattan Supreme Court in New York.
For sure Shakira has been notified of the lawsuit but as of now she hasn’t made any comment. $100 million is a lot of money. I hope they’ll be able to come on an agreement regarding this matter.
Katt Williams is officially facing even more legal trouble, where he is being accused of punching a female assistant, which led her to having permanent injuries, she is asking him for a total of five million dollars.
TMZ reports:Melissa Ishage filed the lawsuit in L.A. County Superior Court, claiming she’d been working as Katt’s personal assistant — but on October 6th, things suddenly went sour at Katt’s house … when Katt attacked her, punching her and causing her “serious and permanent injuries.”
Melissa doesn’t explain why Katt flew into a rage — but claims she had to go to the hospital as a result of the beatdown … and now she wants at least $5 million from Katt to call it even.
Melissa’s attorney tells us, his client claims Katt struck her in the head and knocked her to the ground. The lawyer says police were called to the scene but no one was arrested. The incident is currently under investigation.
Amanda Bynes is now stating that she is going to be suing In Touch magazine for publishing a false story about her in the Tanning Studio.
Contact Music reports: Amanda Byneshas said that she will take legal action against the gossip magazine In Touch, which published a story about the former child actress saying that she was seen wandering aimlessly through a New York tanning salon wearing nothing but tanning goggles.
Bynes, who has recently faced huge criticism for a string of driving-related incidents that have seen her incarcerated a number of times, told US Weekly magazine that she will be suing In Touch for printing a false story about her, as well as insisting that her mental state is nothing to worry about.
She was clearly unimpressed by the accusations when she went to US Weekly, telling the mag: “I’m not ‘troubled.’ I don’t get naked in public. I’m 26, a multi-millionaire, retired. Please respect my privacy.”
Bynes, who is currently facing a DUI, two hit-and-run charges, as well as two separate charges for driving with a suspended license, was recently dropped by her publicist, lawyer and agent in one go, although if she really is ‘retired’ then that does go some way into explaining why she has done little to get her career back on the road. Still, retirement doesn’t explain driving like a woman possessed.
