Tom Cruise filed an October Lawsuit against The Hollywood Reporter, and now Bauer Media is requesting details about his divorce from Katie Holmes.
Gossip Center reports: The $50 million defamation suit against Life & Style is a result of the publishing company’s report that the “Jack Reacher” hunk abandoned his daughter, Suri, during court proceedings.
As part of the discovery process, Bauer is asking for documents including “the expectations for Cruise’s contact and visitation schedule with Suri and the terms of the divorce agreement,” as well as an evaluation of “Suri’s mental and emotional state” following her parents’ split.
For their part, Cruise’s attorneys are asking for the identities of the sources who gave the story to Life & Style, as well as their policies regarding publishing stories about Cruise.

Lindsay Lohan made an appearance in court today with her new New York attorney to plead in the case in the fact of reportedly lying to the cops.
TMZ reports: Heller is currently inside the courthouse and is expected to come out to address the media … because he can’t help himself.
Judge Stephanie Sautner couldn’t help herself during Lindsay Lohan‘s hearing this AM, quipping, “I’m glad to see you’re feeling better” — referring to the fact that she was almost a no-show because her doctor said she had an upper respiratory infection — which apparently didn’t get in the way of her shopping spree last Saturday.
Lindsay reluctantly told the judge in her criminal case she’s down with saying goodbye to longtime lawyer Shawn Holley … and put her fate in the hands of New York attorney Mark Heller, who arrived to court today with a rabbit’s foot on his bag for good luck.
A sleepy Lindsay hesitated when Judge Sautner asked if she was comfortable with the change. Lindsay qualified her answer by telling the judge she was OK with it today, but the judge wanted to know about today and tomorrow … Lindsay said it was.
Judge Sautner gave Heller permission to rep Lindsay in the lying-to-cops case and Heller then tried to turn on the charm, telling the judge they had a NYC connection since she was once a Big Apple detective. The judge fired back that flattery would get him nowhere fast.
The judge also laid down the ominous fact — that Lindsay could be found not guilty in the lying case, and her probation in the jewelry case could still be violated since the standard of proof is lower.
The Judge set March 1 as the next hearing.
FYI — for whoever cares, Lindsay wore Chanel to court today with Celine shades … and Louboutins on her feet, obviously.

Cam Gigandet from Twilight is being accused of smashing into another driver and now the actor is being slapped with a law suit.
Gosssip Center reports: The “Twilight” star reportedly rear-ended the vehicle driven by Jacqueline Nia along Santa Monica boulevard on January 28th, 2012.
In the complaint, Ms. Nia claims she incurred serious injuries as a result of the accident, which caused, “great physical, mental, and nervous pain, suffering, and anguish.”
Though she’s suing for unspecified damages, the plaintiff seeks medical expenses and lost wages from the 30-year-old actor. Luckily, Cam has a plethora of film projects lined up to cover him should he be ordered to pay.

The Jonas Brothers are facing a law suit because of a concert at the Grove in Los Angeles in May, 2010, after the fan was allegedly being crushed against a fence.
Gossip Center reports: According to the complaint acquired by TMZ, Ashleigh Johnson claims she was at the 3pm show when an uncontrolled crowd pushed her against the guard fence.
Alleging serious mental, emotional, and physical injuries, Ashleigh says she was “agonizingly crushed.”
She’s suing the JoBros, along with The Grove’s Caruso Management. Ms. Johnson’s age was not revealed in the lawsuit.

Emmylou Harris is officially being looked at for a hit and run from a minor accident that occurred in October.
Gossip Center reports: The country crooner allegedly struck a vehicle on the L.A. Freeway on the night of October 1st with her rental car and did not stop.
According to TMZ, the other drive filed a report with the California Highway Patrol and the case was forwarded to the Los Angeles County District Attorney for possible prosecution.
A rep for the 65-year-old singer acknowledged a “minor traffic” accident that day, but claims Emmylou didn’t realize there was enough contact to warrant an exchange of information.

Terrence Howard is finding it difficult to pay his credit card bills, the actor has starred in many big name movies, but he is now being sued for unpaid bills!
Gossip Center reports: Last month, American Express sued the “Hustle & Flow” star for an unpaid balance of $33,474.79, according to court documents.
The Complaint filed in the Los Angeles Superior Court on November 30th has charges against the actor individually, as well as his company, Al Chemist Productions Incorporated.
American Express is also seeking ten percent interest from the date the suit was filed. Mr. Howard’s attorneys have yet to file an answer.

Nas is being sued by a concert promoter stating that the rapper did not show up for a gig last year, and took off with all the money.
Celeb Spin reports: Patrick Allocco asserts that he was taken hostage by promoters and “henchmen” in December 2011 when Nas stood up his New Year’s Eve concert, for which he was paid $300,000. The promoter was allegedly held captive for 50 days by those who wanted their money back. During the ordeal, Allocco claims he was beaten and threatened constantly.
Though Nas isn’t claimed to be one of the kidnappers, he is being sued for $10 million for his role in the incident, with Allocco claiming he lost his house and business during the time he was in captivity.
