Life&Style reports: “I had always heard that when you have a baby it completes your life — and it’s true,” Giuliana tells Life & Style. “I love my baby, and I love my new role.”
The ecstatic new parents posed with their son — they call him Duke — during the exclusive photo shoot at the Presidential Suite at the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago on Sept. 9.
“Every day he’s changing — it’s just remarkable to see,” Bill, 41, tells Life & Style. “[He's] got Giuliana’s dimples!”
Explaining how they came up with the name, Giuliana shares, “Edward is Bill’s late dad’s name and my dad’s name. It was a way to honor them. And Duke means leader.”
The E! News host is a natural at motherhood. “It’s amazing how maternal instincts have taken over, and Giuliana’s just supermom,” raves Bill. “It literally brought tears to my eyes the other day watching her with Duke.”
Bill teases his wife about how much she enjoys changing diapers. “I’d never changed more than a diaper or two in my life,” she laughs. “Now it’s like the littlest things that make me happy — happier than I’ve ever been.”
The arrival of their little bundle of joy was a long-awaited one. After years of struggles with infertility and IVF injections, Giuliana was diagnosed with breast cancer and in December 2011 underwent a double mastectomy. When she was told to delay trying to get pregnant again for at least five years, the couple found a surrogate and shortly after announced that they were expecting! Finally, 11 days before the Life & Style photo shoot, Duke made his triumphant debut via gestational carrier.
“I couldn’t believe that all those years of struggling and the tears actually paid off,” Giuliana admits. “Every shot, every doctor’s visit — in the end, when you’re holding your baby in your arms, you forget it all, and it’s worth it.”
TMZ reports: The additional $20 million is for punitive damages in Steve Wynn‘s defamation lawsuit against the “Girls Gone Wild” honcho, in which Wynn claimed Francis made bogus claims that Wynn threatened to have him murdered over a gambling debt.
Francis was hit with $20 million in compensatory damages yesterday — for statements made to TMZ, “Good Morning America,” and more.
All told, Francis has to pay Wynn $40 million.
Wynn has promised to donate the money to charity. Joe said he plans to contest the verdict and expects the decision to be overturned.
Following the new verdict, Wynn released a statement, saying, “Joe Francis represents a new kind of criminal type: the digital assassin. He takes advantage of the protection afforded by the internet to issue intentionally destructive charges against someone’s reputation.”
He adds, “Thank God for the justice system that finally sent a message.”
Jerry “The King” Lawler might need to consider retirement after his most recent heart attack, with his wrestling buddy Nick Hogan relieved!
TMZ reports: Nick tells us, wrestling “takes a toll” on your body — and as a result, “most guys retire around 50ish.” Lawler is 62.
According to Nick, people in the wrestling business have varied career lengths — but when injuries come into play, it’s hard to ignore the obvious … it’s time to slow down.
Nick uses his own dad as an example — saying even his 59-year-old father has cut back drastically on wrestling because of serious back injuries.
Nick’s parting words — “Our prayers are with you, Jerry. Glad to hear you’re alright.”
CTV News reports: Kocic skipped practice Monday to spend time with his newly expanded family. But he was back in training Tuesday with a beaming smile. Mother and babies are still in hospital but doing well.
“She’s doing great. She’s started walking now,” a bubbling Kocic said after practice. “She’s a fighter, she’s a great woman. The gift she gave me, it’s unbelievable.” The oldest is a girl named Soleil. Then there are two boys: Leo (or Lionel as in Barcelona star Lionel Messi) and another Milos.
The babies, who weighed five, four and three pounds, will remain in hospital for two weeks. His wife is expected to be released Wednesday. “For me it’s still kind of the same,” Kocic said. “Not much change except I’m busier than usual. I guess when they come home, it’s going to be a different story. I’ll have to deal with a lot of crying and stuff, but it’s all good.”
Kocic was prepared. “Strollers are here!!!,” the 27-year-old from Serbia tweeted, along with a photo of a three-seater. There is no history of triplets on either parent’s side. “Total surprise,” said Kocic. “All natural.” They learned the news during an ultrasound when the doctor told them there were three heartbeats.
“We were like ‘OK, is it a baby with three hearts?”‘ he recalled with a giggle. No, just three babies. “So we were in shock for a while,” Kocic added. “But you get used to it, I guess, to the idea of expecting triplets. Now they’re here, so it’s life-changing for sure.”
The delivery date was supposed to be Sept. 20 or 24 but the trio came early. Kocic was slated to go fishing Sunday but the conditions didn’t look good so he was headed home when he got the call. He was in his fishing gear as he headed to hospital. [Read more...]
