Rosario Dawson is featured on the September 2012 issuer of Latina Magazine, with her new movie “Fire With Fire” releasing in theaters on August 31st.

Gossip Center reports: The 33-year-old actress shows off her stunning beauty in an exquisite spread while clad in outfits including a hot number from Lorena Sarbu, among others.

On looking back at her own high school years:
“I didn’t brush my hair; I wore platform flip-flops and Converse because I had a height complex,” says Dawson, who envied her mom’s six-foot stature. “I would roll in wearing my pajamas, just in the nick of time before class started. And that’s still me.”

On being both excited and terrified to play “amazing icon” Dolores Huerta in the upcoming Chavez, which chronicles civil right leaders Cesar Chavez and Huerta’s fight for farmworker rights in the 1960s:
“They weren’t these regimented people; they were intense but they did have fun moments.”

On having kids in the future:
”I won’t be able to act anymore. I’ll just be focused on trying to make the world a better place for my baby.”

Michelle Obama is on the cover of Ladies’ Home Journal, for the September 2012 issue.

Here’s some highlights from their interview: How can we get more women to be leaders, whether in Washington or on their home turf?

Michelle Obama: W”e have to start with them while they’re young and instill in girls a sense of confidence. That’s why sports are so important. They teach you how to compete — how to fall down and get back up. And there are organizations like the Girl Scouts: They nurture self-confidence and give girls the chance to practice being in charge. We’ve got to give young women the opportunities to be leaders.”

President Obama: ”It’s easier for boys to imagine themselves being President. They see themselves as being in charge. Girls are socialized to think about other people more. I want Malia and Sasha to feel confident about expressing their opinions. And if they’re good at something I want them to have the confidence to step up and shine. I don’t want them to lose their empathy and stop thinking about other people, because that’s an important part of leadership, too. But I don’t want them to be wallflowers.”

Mr. President, what is it about your wife that makes people sit up and listen to her?

President Obama: ”Well, she’s very smart. She’s a wonderful speaker. She’s very cute.”

Michelle Obama: ”Thanks for this question. I wanted to see what he had to say [laughs].”

President Obama: ”Having said all those things, the quality I love most about her is, she’s honest and genuine. I think that comes across to people. They get a sense that they can trust her. You know, the word “authenticity” is overused these days. But I do think it captures what folks are looking for — not just in leaders, but also in friends and in coworkers — and that is, folks who are on the level. People like that tell you what they think and don’t have a bunch of hidden motives. That’s who Michelle is. She’s also funny. She’s the funniest person in our family.”

“Someone who can’t be honest. I feel like there are so many guys out there that are full of crap. Just be honest. If you’re seeing someone or talking to someone else, there’s no reason to string someone else along. Oh, and bad breath. That is a no-no. Other than that, we’re good.”

On whether she was bothered that her racy web pictures received more media attention than her singing:
“The only reason people are paying attention to that is because of my father. I don’t think they’d care if I was anybody else. I’m a normal 23-year-old. I know attention is part of the career I’ve chosen, but I wish I was presented in a different light. The rumor that my dad made me shut down my Twitter account is completely false. I want people to see that I’m intelligent. I’m not a bimbo. I have an 8-year-old sister. The only thing I want to do is be a role model. I’m not trying to say, “You should follow me, all you girls,” but I want my little sister to respect me and see how much I’ve accomplished. Like, the other day I was the airport, and there was a cute guy who I saw notice me. But instead of coming up to me, he put his head down and started texting to appear like, ‘Oh, I didn’t even see you!’ I was like, ‘If you really were cool, you’d just be yourself and talk to me.’”On the body part that she’s especially proud of:
“My stomach is hard, and I’m very proud of it. I still eat, though. To me that’s one of the best things in life.”
