Canadian pop/R&B singer, songwriter and actor Justin Bieber, has been said to have donated $100,000 (£64,524) to the children who are less fortunate that he is, at a Las Vegas elementary school.
The ‘Mistletoe‘ singer has teamed up with The Ellen DeGeneres Show to raise money for Whitney Elementary School, as there is seventy per cent of the students who do have homes. On Friday December 16, 2011, the children had been treated to a personal visit from Bieber.
He had also performed a special holiday concert for their enjoyment. Bieber also took some time out to meet with the kids and personally deliver a donation of $100,000.
Kynedi Harrie a fourth grader had explained to The AP that Bieber’s visit was the highlight of the holiday season for Whitney Elementary School.
“He really came for us. I’m so glad that he really came for us,” she beamed.
Sherri Gahn the school principal, had been a strong advocate for the education of the fortunate since being hired at the school.
So that’s when Ghan’s work had inspired attention by Ellen DeGeneres, who did vow to continue raising money for the students of Whitney Elementary.
Highlights from Bieber’s concert will air on a future episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
