Joan Rivers daughter says her family has their fingers crossed as the comedienne is still hospitalized, hoping she will pull through. On August 28, 2014 the eighty on year old went for a minor throat procedure when she just stopped breathing, soon after she had been placed on a life support machine. family and friends of Rivers are still trying to process the news that she went into cardiac and respiratory arrest, but they do remain hopeful as Rivers had been placed in a medically induced coma so doctors could conduct a full assessment of the damage at Mount Sinai Hospital. Reported doctors don’t know how long she had gone without breathing.
Even though the current situation looks very bleak, Joan’s daughter Melissa Rivers released a statement on Sunday (Aug 31st) saying,
“We are keeping our fingers crossed.”
Since news broke of the ‘Fashion Police’ co-host’s health scare there have been much support for Rivers, and Melissa expressed her appreciation.
“My mother would be so touched by the tributes and prayers that we have received from around the world,” she said. “Her condition remains serious but she is receiving the best treatment and care possible. We ask that you continue to keep her in your thoughts as we pray for her recovery.”
On the day of the incident, Melissa also stated that,
“she is resting comfortably and is with our family. We ask that you continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers.”
