Lauren Bacall left ten thousand dollars (£5,880) to her dog in her will. The eighty nine year old legendary actress, known for her distinctive husky voice and sultry looks first started her career as a model gave this for the care of her pooch. The former leading lady to Humphrey Bogart passed away on August 14, 2014 leaving behind the amount of twenty six point six million dollars (£15.6 million) estate.
According to the New York Daily News, her grandsons will inherit $250,000 (£147,000) each, two longtime employees will share $35,000 (£20,500) and her papillon, Sophie, will be taken care of thanks to a $10,000 (£5,880) lump sum.
Papers were filed on Friday (22Aug14) in Manhattan Surrogate’s Court.
The rest of her estate, including her apartment in the Dakota building and its contents, will be divided between her three children, Leslie Bogart, Stephen Humphrey Bogart and Sam Robards, who will become the dog’s guardian.
Also named as executors to her estate were her children, they will take charge of the actress’ likeness rights, although in the will, signed late last year (13), Bacall stipulated,“I request that my children respect my wish to keep private certain personal letters, writings, diaries and other papers or memorabilia.”
