Channing Tatum was nit expecting his wife to get bring on first try. The star is known for such movies as Dear John, Magic Mike and White House Down was hoping that he didn’t take on top much when Jenna Dewan-Tatum became pregnant as he was in the middle of four movies in the span of eighteen months. The couple made the decision in 2012 to try for a baby, that is when he was signed to appear in White House Down, Foxcatcher, Jupiter Ascending and 22 Jump Street, however her quick conception caught him by surprise.
He also says that he had pushed away concerns about working so hard in such a short period of time, but finding out he would be a first time parent as well, he feared he didn’t have enough time on his side. He tells America’s Gq magazine,
“I feel like I was definitely the fat kid at the buffet (when he received the movie offers). There were four really great projects, and I was (like), ‘I wanna do them all.’
“(His advisors were) like, ‘You know doing four movies back-to-back is going to kill you?’ and I’m (like), ‘Yeah, but that’s something I can take. That’s just going to be tiring, and tired doesn’t kill you.’ (I had) zero breaks.
“(But then) we had sort of a crazy, harebrained idea to try and have a kid, and it happened the first time, basically. I don’t think we thought it all the way through.”
However, baby daughter Everly was born last spring (13) and Tatum insists he has no regrets about their road to parenthood, saying, “We were happy as hell about it.”
And he adds of his hectic work schedule:
“I get one shot at life, and I can say that I’ve lived a crazy one, and I’ve pushed the limit almost at every turn. I’m super proud of that.”
