True Detective’ Matthew McConaughey, 44, Hollywood Break Was Life Changing

UntitledMatthew McConaughey appreciates Hollywood break. He is much known for his role in the 1993 comedy Dazed and Confused, moving onto other films such as the thriller Time to Kill, The Wedding Planner and Failure to Launch and he has said that taking a well deserved break form Hollywood had been life changing for him. The popular star, who has children five year old Levi, four year old Levi and one year old Livingston with his wife Camila Alves walked away from his career in 2009 for two years. The reason was fatherhood and he thinks that the time spent away was good for his career.

McConaughey – who has won a slew of awards and received an Oscar nomination for his performance in ‘Dallas Buyers Club’ – explained:

”I just needed to let time catch up with me.”

Now at forty four years old, he is starring in a hit HBO TV series ‘True Detective’, and he say that this role that he took on was to make both his career good and his family happy. He explained:

”Part of it is just growing up and part of it is I’m very turned on and excited about all kinds of things. Probably more now than I used to be.

”I work hard to maintain the good things in my life that I’ve built – friendships, work, family, my own time. Sometimes you’ve got to go, ‘Ah man, I haven’t seen my brother in three months.’ But it feels really great when you can think, ‘Boy, all my relationships are good, people that I love are good, and my relationship with them is good. My career, I’m dialled, it feels good. Health Is good.’ ”
