Sarah Hyland has accused a fan of assault. She is known for her role on the sitcom Modern Family as Haley Dunphy and what she is saying is that because a fan had groped her she fled from a party. She was on shoot for special holiday episode of the show which was hosted by Qantas at The Sebel Pier One in Sydney, however she left in a hurry and in tears on Tuesday night, February 18, 2014 after she accused the fan of this as she was being asked for a photo. Apparently she pushed the man away screaming ‘Don’t touch me there,’ before security intervened and police were called to the scene.
A spokesperson for the New South Wales Police Department told the MailOnline website:
“A man is assisting police with investigations following an alleged indecent assault of a woman yesterday. It is alleged the man indecently assaulted the 23-year-old woman near Hickson Road, The Rocks, at about 7.50pm.
“A 29-year-old man was arrested. Police are continuing their investigations.”
Shortly after the incident, the 23-year-old actress wrote on Twitter:
“Sorry to all the fans outside the #qantas event that I didn’t get to say hi to but I had to leave due to an inappropriate touch of a fan.”
Her boyfriend Matt Prokop, who attended the party with her, also tweeted:
“To the a**hole who assaulted Sarah tonight I hope to God you don’t see next week.
“All Sarah wanted to do tonight was say hi to the girls who were waiting outside one douche can ruin it for everyone. Goodnight.”
