Katherine Heigl Aided In Helping Rescue Dogs

The star maybe best known for her role as Dr. Isobel “Izzie” Stevens on the medical drama Grey’s Anatomy and what she is doing is aiding two rescue dogs over in Sochi, Russia, to find new loving homes in the U.S. The thirty five year old Knocked Up star got the animals, which re called Sochi and Adler, from a former ‘Bachelorette’ contestant Ali Fedotowsky, she was on hand to make sure they arrived safely to Los Angeles from Sochi on Saturday,

February 22, 2014, at that time she was on a work assignment as a Olympic correspondent for E! News. Heigl already owns seven dogs and has co founded the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation, which is to help doges find loving homes, she told PEOPLE.com that her inspiration came from hearing terrible news that Russia officials were planning on doing w=away with stray dogs found near the Olympic Park, as he had concerns one may have been ill. She said:

“Sochi hasn’t eaten in 15 hours and is throwing up so we are hoping that it’s just from the travel.”

She added:

“We haven’t done this before. We haven’t done a rescue from another country. I’m nervous for the dogs. It’s an awfully long flight. I’m hoping it’s the beginning of the good life to come.”
