Mindy Kaling defends her Elle cover ‘It Made Me Feel Glamorous & Cool’. The Office star (Kelly Kapoor) said she felt honored that she had been featured for Elle for their “Women in TV” issue, and just wants the talk which is going around about what the Magazine did wrong to stop. Kaling along with three other woman appear together on the cover.
However there is some controversy over Kaling’s cover. What the story is, Kaling is the only one whose body had not been shown and she was in black and white. The Mindy Project star is saying this is just plain silly.
“I love my @ELLEmagazine cover,” Kaling wrote Tuesday on Twitter. “It made me feel glamorous & cool. And if anyone wants to see more of my body, go on thirteen dates with me.”
Elle caused a bit of trouble last year when they featured Melissa McCarthy on their cover in a long, covering coat. But the actress later said it was her decision to wear the coat for the shoot.
The magazine responded to the latest criticism (via the Los Angeles Times) by saying, “Mindy looks sexy, beautiful and chic. We think it is a striking and sophisticated cover and are thrilled to celebrate her in our Women in TV Issue.”
