Jennifer Lawrence has won her first Golden Globe. When the actress was just twenty two years old she acted in the romantic comedy Silver Linings Playbook. Then at the age of twenty three she went onto the comedy drama American Hustle. But one of highly acclaimed roles was of heroine, Katniss Everdeen, in the The Hunger Games film series.
She picked it up in Los Angeles at this years Golden Globe Awards when she was named Best Supporting Actress for her role in American Hustle.
The young star paid tribute to her director David O. Russell in her acceptance speech, revealing she had been a longtime fan of his films before she landed a role in one – Silver Linings Playbook.
She said, “I just thought, ‘This is the most brilliant man in every single way,’ and to think that by some weird twist of fate that that’s the same man who made my career what it is so weird and wonderful.”
