Lamar Odom Strikes A Plea Deal, Gets Three Years Probation!

resizedimageLamar Odom strikes a plea deal, he gets three years probation in DUI case. The thirty three year old former American professional basketball forward has agreed upon the terms of thirty six months of probation and three additional months of counseling in an alcohol-education program. It is a step to getting his life back on track, he settled the DUI charge on Monday, December 9, 2013,

“The case was resolved,” a spokesperson from the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office told Us Weekly. The NBA player, 34, has agreed to 36 months of probation and 3 months of counseling in an alcohol-education program, after his lawyer entered a no-contest plea on behalf of the troubled star. “His lawyer was in court this morning, and advanced the case [after he] entered a no-contest plea,” the spokesperson added. Odom was also ordered to pay $1,814 in fines and penalties.

Khloe Kardashian’s husband was arrested on a DUI charge back in late August, after a California Highway Patrol officer pulled over the professional athlete for driving “too slowly” and in a “serpentine manner” on the 101 Freeway in the San Fernando Valley. After failing field sobriety tests and refusing to take a chemical test, Odom was booked on a DUI charge. The CHP toldUs that the troubled reality star “showed objective signs of intoxication” at the time of his arrest.

By refusing to take a chemical sobriety test, Odom’s license was automatically suspended under California law. “We gave him plenty of opportunities to recant and submit [to the test] but he refused,” Public Information Officer Leland Tang told Us of Odom’s vehicular troubles back in August. The DMV will later hold a hearing to determine when Odom will be allowed behind the wheel once again.

The news of his DUI followed Odom’s very public struggles with substance abuse — which created a deep rift in his marriage to the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, 29, as Us previously reported. (Back in 2001, he admitted to violating NBA drug policies twice. Odom, who was on the Los Angeles Lakers’ roster from 2004 to 2011 at the height of his NBA career, played for Los Angeles Clippers in the 2012-2013 NBA season.)

Despite their marriage woes, the two were last spotted at Kris Jenner’s 58th birthday party together in early November. The pair also celebrated Odom’s th birthday together on Nov. 6 at home.

Sources told Us last month that Odom was expected to re-sign with the Clippers.

“Lamar is training and in good shape,” the insider told Us. “The teams aren’t concerned about the drug use,” another source added. “If he stays mentally focused, he can help win games.”
