Kristin Davis in Haute Living: I’d Rather Help Elephants than Act.The former star known for role as Brooke Armstrong in Melrose Place has just signed on to CBS’ new series “Bad Teacher,” but now Davis says she would rather help end animal suffering than continue her acting career.
The forty eight year old actress has opened up about her fight to save elephants and even discusses the possibility of a third film for her hit series “Sex in the City.”
On ending elephant cruelty:
“Elephants are under extreme attack. I really want to quit acting and move [to Kenya] but they’re telling that I can’t because they need me to be famous so people will listen to me. And when I mean ‘them,’ I mean three generations of family: Dame Daphne [of The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust], her daughter Angela, her husband and their sons.”
On considering “Sex in the City 3″:
“I’m going to have a little talk with Cynthia [Nixon] the next time I see her! I don’t think [a third film] is a pipe dream, there is discussion. People talk about it amongst the people who are the players, but I don’t know if it will come together. It would be very exciting if it did.”
On raising her adopted daughter, Gemma:
“The greatest luxury is being home in the morning when my daughter wakes up and not have to go anywhere.. my ultimate favorite day is not getting out of my pajamas. I have a beautiful home, a beautiful yard, and a lot of food.”
On taking on the role for “Bad Teacher:
“It’s a good departure. I’m excited to do it, I guess. I’m really lucky to have a job, but I have a two-year-old, and I’ve been in mommy mode, which is separate from my charitable self.”
