Zoe Saldana made an appearance in Brentwood on Wednesday, December 5th while spending time with family and friends.
Celeb Spin reports: The “Avatar” actress looked stylish in a black and white striped top, black blazer, dark skinnies, and black flats as she carried a red handbag and chatted with her sister, Cicely.
Recently, controversy began swirling over the casting of the 34-year-old actress in an upcoming Nina Simone biopic. The debate is over whether Zoe, an Afro-Latina actress of Dominican and Puerto Rican descent, should have been cast as an African-American artist and advocate.
Simone’s daughter, Simone Kelly, told the New York Times, “My mother was raised at a time when she was told her nose was too wide, her skin was too dark. Appearance-wise this is not the best choice.”
