Miss Kosovo 2012, Diana Avdiu has been officially titled by the judges on Friday, December 14th the most photogenic of the eighty nine contestants.
Examiner reports: AVdiu is Miss Kosovo 2012. The 19-year-old was born in Mitrovica, according to her pageant biography. “She lives with her parents and her little brother. Diana’s interests and hobbies include modeling, reading and watching movies. Currently, she studies in her school’s faculty of arts, in hopes of becoming a successful drama and horror movie director.”
She began modeling at age 15. The final night of competition in the Miss Universe pageant will be broadcast live Dec. 19 at 8 p.m. EST on the NBC television networks, as well as several other networks throughout the globe.
A delayed broadcast is scheduled for 8 p.m. PST.
“Miss Universe uses her title to champion HIV/AIDS prevention, particularly among adolescents,” according to pageant officials. “During her reign, Miss Universe will work with the Latino Commission on AIDS, Gay Men’s Health Crisis (GMHC) and YouthAIDS/PSI among other organizations.
“Because over 41 million people are living with HIV/AIDS – 47 percent of them are women and roughly one-third are young people between the ages of 15 and 24; because more than 14,000 people were infected with HIV last year; and because AIDS is the deadliest infectious disease among adults and the fourth leading cause of death worldwide, every Miss Universe has the job of traveling the world to speak on behalf of her official cause, HIV/AIDS awareness.”
