Andy Samberg has been announced as the funny quirky guy to host the 2013 Film Independent Spirit Awards.
Celeb Spin reports: The “Saturday Night Live” alum was heavily recruited by IFC President & GM Jennifer Caserta who told press she can’t wait to see how he comes off as host.
Caserta gushed, “Andy Samberg is an amazing comedian, just as offbeat as IFC. We’re thrilled that he’s hosting this year’s Spirit Awards. This is a real treat for our viewers.”
“Moonrise Kingdom” and “Silver Linings Playbook” both have five nominations for the 2013 Film Independent Spirit Awards, slated to hit airwaves on February 23rd at 10:00pm.
