Jessica Chastain is being featured on the cover of Vanity Fair for the September 2012 issue, where her new movie “Lawless” comes out on August 29th.
Gossip Center reports: On her nervousness over her future in acting:
“I have a feeling that very soon I’m going to fail very, very big. I’m going to try something and everybody’s going to be like, ‘What was she thinking?’”
On the worriesome thoughts which have constantly plagued her:
“Will someone be mean to me?” She adds, “I don’t want people to look at me. I’ve spent my life being embarrassed.”On her upcoming role as Catherine Sloper in the Broadway revival of ‘The Heiress’:
“I haven’t been this unsure in a long time. I don’t feel like ‘Oh yeah, I’m going to nail this.’ I feel really, really terrified.”Mario Testino on Miss Chastain:
“More and more, I am attracted to mixing the beauty of actresses with their talent to transform themselves into other characters, bringing out something hidden within them. For this shoot, I wanted to use Jessica’s acting talent by giving her the role of an English lady—an eccentric—living a detached life in her rural home with her birds, dogs, and horses. But all while maintaining a high level of style. Very inspired by the paintings of [Giovanni] Boldini, [John Singer] Sargent, and [Thomas] Gainsborough.”
