Who would have guessed that the Yellowest family 23 years ago when they were released by Fox that an animated half-hour show about a yellow family living in the fictional town of Springfield, that the series would become an international phenomenon, eventually reaching a whopping 500 episodes.
The Simpsons turns 500 this Sunday with a special episode designed to appeal to fans, new and old alike. In the installment, the residents of Springfield hold a secret town hall meeting in which they decided they’ve finally had enough of the Simpsons’ shenanigans, and vote to kick them out of town.
