Remembering Issac Hayes

Isaac Lee Hayes Jr., an American songwriter, musician, singer and actor sometimes, he was behind soul, the label Stax Records, with them he was a songwriter and producer, his partner was David Potter.

The hit song Soul Man, was written by Hayes and Porter, and performed by Sam and Dave., it was recognized in The Gram, my Hall of Fame, The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Rolling Stone Magazine and by R1AA the Song of the Century, he had albums such as Hot Buttered Soul, Black Moses, he was also an Actor on the Film SHAFT, I’m Gonna Get You Sucka, The T.V. Series The Rockford Files, he was also the voice of Chef on South Park.

In 1992, he was crowned the honoree king of the Ada Ghana region for all his humanitarian work done there. He was honored as a BMI Icon at the BMI Urban Awards.

He was born in the county of Tipton, in Covington Tennessee, his Father was Isaac Hayes Sr. and his Mother was Eula Hayes, he played music at nightclubs and Juke Joints in Memphis and in Mississippi. he sang at Curry s Club in Memphis backed by Ben Branch, during his career he had other accomplishment in singing, songs and albums.

Isaac Hayes had fathered 12 children, and having 14 grandchildren and three great grandchildren, on March 20, 2006 Roger Friedman of Fox News had given the news that Hayes in January had suffered a stroke, a minor one, then two years later, at his home in Memphis he was found unconscious, he was taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital he had passed away at 2.08 p.m. on August 10, 2008. The cause of death was a stroke, and he is buried at Memorial Park Cemetery in Memphis Tennessee.
